1. Introduction

ClusterSight (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website at clustersight.io (the “Website”) and publishes ClusterSight, free and open-source ClickHouse monitoring software (the “Software”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Website and how we use it.

We do not offer accounts, paid plans, or a hosted service, so we collect very little. See also our Terms of Service.

2. The Software Sends Us Nothing

The Software is self-hosted and runs entirely on your infrastructure. It does not include telemetry, analytics, or “phone-home” features. ClickHouse metrics, query data, alert settings, and credentials stay in your deployment. The Software only connects to the ClickHouse clusters you configure and to services you choose to enable, such as a Slack webhook for alerts.

Downloading the Software from GitHub or Docker Hub is subject to those providers' privacy policies.

3. Information the Website Collects

3.1 Collected Automatically

• Analytics data (only if you accept cookies): Pages visited, time on page, referring URLs, approximate location, and browser and device type, collected through Google Analytics.
• Server logs: IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of request, recorded by our hosting and content delivery provider for security and reliability.

3.2 Information You Provide

• Communications: Your email address and the content of any message you send us by email.

Issues, pull requests, and comments you post on GitHub are public and governed by GitHub's privacy policy.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Understand which pages and documentation are useful, and improve the Website
• Keep the Website secure and detect abuse
• Reply to messages you send us
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell your personal information.

5. How We Share Information

• Service providers: Our website hosting and content delivery provider (Hostinger) and our analytics provider (Google Analytics) process data on our behalf.
• Legal compliance: When required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
• Project transfers: If the ClusterSight project or Website is transferred to a new maintainer.

6. Cookies

The Website does not use login or session cookies. Google Analytics, which sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure usage, only loads if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you click “Decline” or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is saved in your browser, and you can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Declining does not affect how the Website works.

7. Data Retention

Analytics data (collected only with your consent) is retained according to our Google Analytics retention settings. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to respond or until you ask us to delete them. You can request deletion at any time by contacting privacy@clustersight.io.

8. Security

The Website is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@clustersight.io. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

10. International Transfers

ClusterSight is based in Australia. Our hosting and analytics providers may process Website data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where required, these providers use appropriate safeguards for such transfers in compliance with applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

The Website is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
